Born and raised in Mahenye Village, Gonarezhou is home to Lloyd, and you will be far stretched to find anyone who knows this landscape better than he! Lloyd’s family are an integral part of Chilo’s history, as Lloyd’s father was an architect involved in the building of Chilo Gorge Safari Lodge, and after completing his A-levels, Lloyd’s first job out of school was to join the staff at the lodge as an intern in the restaurant area from where he progressed to a waiter.
Having been inspired by Chilo’s resident guides, he soon expressed interest for learning the skills and trade of safari guiding showing his passion and love for all things nature! Lloyd learned his guiding, tracking and shooting techniques from Chilo’s guiding team, which, together with his intricate knowledge of Gonarezhou, means guests can prepare for an authentic wildlife and safari experience exploring all corners of Gonarezhou.
